As we all know that the Edhi Foundation is a nonprofit social welfare organization founded by Abdul Sattar Edhi in 1951 based in Pakistan. Edhi Sb served as the head of the organization and involved himself in each activity of the foundation like He had driven ambulances, fed the poor and babies with His own hands, and raised funds by himself until his death on 8 July 2016.
The following are some of its “from Cradle to Grave” services and projects:
1) FIELD AMBULANCE SERVICE
2) AIR AMBULANCE SERVICES
3) WELFARE CENTRES
4) BLOOD AND DRUG BANKS
5) EDHI HOMES FOR THE SHELTER OF ANIMALS.
6) DESTITUTE HOMES
7) PRISONERS AID

Today Edhi Sb is not between us and the Edhi foundation is run by his son Faisal Edhi. And after the demise of Edhi Sb, the organization has faced many setbacks and they have suffered from donations.
So we here at Amal Academy have collaborated with Edhi Foundation to collect funds and donations to ensure the smooth running of their processes and keep the radiant smiles of the poor and needy intact.

Abdul Sattar Edhi believes that no religion is higher than humanity, this activity helps us to understand these lines in a more practical way. We were given this task to collect funds in two weeks. So, in our first week, we decided to collect money via social media because when we were assigned this task we were not able to go outside for fundraising due to coronavirus, so we're supposed to stick to online fundraising.
So, every member in our group uploaded the posters and text appealing for Edhi foundation fundraising on social media accounts like Facebook Instagram, WhatsApp groups, and status.

This week, some people appreciated us but very few of them donated. This was a little disappointing for us, but we can understand most people don’t take it seriously, and they just ignored our posts. The funds which we collected in our first week were mostly from our relatives, close friends, and family.
For the next week as a circle, we decided to connect to people personally and some organizations too. So, we talked to many peoples online and offline both ways. Many of them appreciated us for this great work and they show a positive response but none of them has donated to us due to various reasons, most of the people ignore our texts here too, they didn't give a response. At first, we felt sad but this is the thing we are working for. In this activity, we are learning to accept failure and rejection. So, we remind each other of that again and again and gives courage to each other.

This activity teaches us we should not get out of track. We should face rejection with an open mind, manage all other activities as usual and move toward the next step. This experience will hopefully help us a lot in our practical life. Throughout this activity, I also realized that some people appreciate and donate to needy people, but most of them don't. This thing hurts me, and we should learn and apply humanity more practically.

This is the first fundraising work for me and my team. But after this activity, we feel like we can participate more in social events and this is a great achievement for every member of our team. Today is the end of our fundraising campaign and below are the analytics of our work for two weeks.

Tomorrow I will gather all the funds from my team members they have collected and then will go and donate to the nearest Edhi center or transfer the amount online to the bank and share the receipt with my respective facilitator as proof. It was a great experience for all of us and whoever is reading this blog I encourage them to donate for the needy and poor at least once or twice a year and you will definitely feel a great sense of satisfaction.

Muhammad, upon him be peace, said: “Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth and the servant who forgives, Allah adds to his respect; and the one who shows humility, Allah elevates him in the estimation (of the people).” (Muslim)
